ThaiNox takes deliveries
of the hot-rolled coils from abroad and processes them
through the cold-rolling operation in order to obtain
the thickness and surface as demanded by individual
customers. The raw materials used in this production
process are derived from selected steel scraps that
are re-melted with a pre-determined amount of alloys
in the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF). The molten liquid
steel is then refined and later cast into slabs. These
slabs are subsequently transformed by the hot rolling
operations into hot-rolled coils.
The hot-rolled stainless steel coils
(also known as ‘Black Coil’) are processed through annealing
and pickling lines and in Sendzimir mills to obtain
the desired thickness. The cold-rolled coils are then
given final annealing – either in a second annealing
and pickling line or in a “bright annealing” line. Finally,
the coils will be delivered to a skin pass mill for
a slight rolling to obtain the proper shiny gloss. Each
and every production process is controlled and monitored
by computer, while metallurgical and mechanical properties
are tested in our fully equipped laboratory.
